June 1986. The Waipara station footbridge is seen shortly before demolition.
July 1986. The Glenmark station site has been surveyed and foundations are being put in for the Mina station building and platform.
July 1986. The loop is now about three quarters complete as more rails are offloaded at Glenmark.
July 1986. On the occasion of the annual Arthur’s Pass excursion, members enjoy the snow at Craigieburn. Graeme Horsham is about to throw a snowball at Gary Kelly.
September 1986. JA 1260, complete with sign, is seen under tow at the old Christchurch yards en route from Ashburton to Waipara.
Late 1986. Demolishing the veranda on the Mina station at Mina.
Late 1986. The hydraulic hoist on Bob Blaikie’s truck is employed in extracting the veranda uprights at Mina. A block of line was in force that day with NZR scheduling trackwork in the area.
